Electro-Embroidery Lab

Location: MUSEUM OF MAKING 

Duration: Full Day 

Booking and Prices: £15.00 + VAT per pupil. This session allows 25 pupils (minimum) to 35 pupils (maximum).

Contents: Embroidery that conducts electricity?!

Sitting in front of Rebecca Crompton’s beautiful embroidery in our gallery, learners will be inspired by her story on the cutting edge of innovation, experimenting and bravery and will then create their own 21st century embroidery that conducts electricity!

Firstly by making a sampler to explore different styles and capabilities of stitch and materials, learners will  start to create their own individual piece with a range of fabric, a sew in LED light/switch and conductive thread, thinking about the science of electricity to influence their stitch and create a workable circuit!
