Vikings and Anglo-Saxons

Duration: 120 mins

Booking and Prices: £6.50 + VAT per pupil. This session allows 25 pupils (minimum) to 35 pupils (maximum).

Session Description: The session begins with an exploration of the Viking settlement of Britain and the conflicts with the Anglo-Saxons, with particular reference to Derby. Pupils will examine a replica Viking burial, complete a ‘Skeleton Recording Sheet’ and learn how to use objects to find out information about a person’s life and status. Children will write a postcard using Viking runes for their classmates to decipher. Within the session, students will also make a Hammer of Thor pendant!
