Derby Museum & Art Gallery will re-open on Tuesday 18 May 2021.
Entry is free and you do not need to pre-book. We will be operating a Covid-secure one-way system with reduced capacity. Please be aware that you may have to queue at busy times.
Tuesday - Sunday currently closed.
Offsite parking is available nearby at the Assembly Rooms, Bold Lane and Chapel Street car parks and parking cards can be validated at the Museum and Art Gallery to give a discounted rate of £2.50 for a day. The nearest offsite car park is on Bold Lane, 50 metres from the museum, where there are 11 clearly marked Blue Badge parking spaces available free of charge. This car park is open twenty four hours a day.
With a direct train from London to Derby, you can be at any of our museums in less than two hours!
There are frequent and regular bus services into the city centre, operated by Trent Barton and Arriva. Derby Bus Station is a 10 minute walk away.
There are bicycle racks outside the museum entrance on The Strand.
The main entrance to the Museum and Art Gallery can be found on The Strand. The door is opposite the end of Sadler Gate and within view of Bold Lane car park. It is not possible to enter the building through the adjoining Derby Library.
At Derby Museums we want everyone to be able to enjoy our exhibitions and events, and we have taken every measure to ensure that we are as open and accessible to as many people as possible. The Museum and Art Gallery is fully wheelchair-accessible and assistance may be provided if required.
