They will learn about Egyptian life, discuss Gods, try out some Egyptian dancing and take part in ‘Pass the Scarab’.
Meet an Archaeologist
The session begins with an introduction to archaeology. With reference to the Viking dig at Repton, pupils have the opportunity to become trainee archaeologists, learning about the tools and techniques used; geophysical investigations/metal detectors, before taking part in a mock excavation.
WW1- Meet Bert and Agatha
Inspired by actual postcards written by a soldier at the front to his family in Derby, this session explores the changing lives of both men and women during WW1, and the impact of the war upon the nation. Using Museum artefacts and objects, Bert, a soldier and Agatha, a nurse, bring their stories to life. Pupils will have the opportunity to handle original and replica objects.
