Perfect for Transport topics and learning about events beyond living memory (NC 2014), your learners will uncover the fascinating story of many flight pioneers, and role play Alcock & Brown’s momentous feat of successfully flying non-stop across the Atlantic Ocean in 1919 using The Roll’s Royce Eagle engine, now found on display in our gallery!

Learners will then take on their own trans-Atlantic mission completing a KS1 STEAM Paper Plane Challenge!  Evaluating existing toy plane products and understanding how to strengthen and stiffen paper, learners will perform simple tests to demonstrate how weight and shape all contribute to flight and make their very own paper plane to fly the furthest!
