TALK: John Flamsteed’s Atlas Coelestis

Learn more about our Derby Mean Time exhibition

John Flamsteed (1646-1719), who lived in Derby, was the first Astronomer Royal and author of Atlas Coelestis, the great star atlas of 1723, which is explored in our exhibition Derby Mean Time. To accompany the exhibition, Collections Manager Spencer Bailey will give a talk about the man and the astronomical knowledge of his time.
