Bring along something that is special to you and share your story. We’ve invited talented photographer Ofilaye to capture portraits of you and your objects of love. These photographs along with a description of the object will be digitally displayed in the gallery with the museum collection.
In the last week of June, researchers from the US will also be meeting the public to ask questions about the meaning of loved objects in people’s lives and how connections with those objects can help us maintain health and well-being.
In a museum full of objects we’re interested in the emotional value that people place on their belongings; the things we carry with us everywhere we go, the objects we keep close to ourselves or are simply irreplaceable.
Come along with your special object and tell the story of what it means to you or, if you’d like to, head to Twitter and tweet your own photograph from home using the hashtag #ObjectsofLove.
For more information about ‘Objects of Love’, or to book a thirty-minute slot to talk to the project researchers, please contact Derby Museum & Art Gallery on: 01332 641901 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
