Notable literary figure, Dr Samuel Johnson, was married in St Werburgh’s Church to Elizabeth Porter in July 1735. We are pleased to welcome back the Charles Edward Stuart Society to Pickford’s House to mark this special day. Starting with preparations at the House, the wedding party will proceed down Friar Gate to St Werburgh’s Church for the marriage ceremony and then back to Pickford’s for the wedding breakfast. All are welcome to enjoy this historic spectacle.
