Get excited this summer as Derby Museums, in partnership with Wild in Art, brings you the Derby Ram Trail – an amazing public art event, featuring over 30 decorated ram sculptures in a trail threading across Derby city centre.
Artists, both local and national, have been challenged to decorate the rams which, standing five-foot tall and made of fibreglass, are based on artist Michael Pegler’s famous stone ram on Derby’s East Street.
Can you visit them all? The trail starts at the Museum and Art Gallery where you can pick up your trail map, browse our fantastic range of ram merchandise and check out the ram located at the museum.
A trail app is also available, giving you the chance to play and learn more about Derby. At the end of the trail, the rams will be auctioned off to raise money for Derby Museums’ Endowment Fund, helping to secure the future of Derby Museums for generations to come and ensuring everyone has free access to the art and heritage of the city. All funds raised will be doubled by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
