Spencer Bailey
Collections Manager

We took a little time out to have a chat with Spencer and find out more about him, here is what he had to say…
- Many of the people that Joseph Wright painted chose to be depicted with an object that tells us something about them as a person. What object would you choose and why?
I’ve always enjoyed taking photographs, so my object of choice would have to be a camera. There are plenty of them in the museum and some of them probably still work. - If you could be any animal from the Nature Gallery, which would you be and why?
A tricky one as there are so many fascinating specimens in there. Maybe the wildcat- I do sometimes envy the amount of sleep that can be had by any type of cat! - What makes you happy?
The sea, fresh air, cheese, taking photographs and building Lego with my son. - What do you love to do in your spare time? (Aside from working at the museum, obviously)
Reading, photography, listening to music (especially discovering something new and different), watching films and building more Lego!
