Covid-19 Update: Derby Museum and Art Gallery is now open with enhanced safety measures. Pickford’s House and the Silk Mill remain closed until further notice. Please read our access statement prior to your visit for full information.
We spoke to Kim to find out more about her and here is what she had to say…
Many of the people that Joseph Wright painted chose to be depicted with an object that tells us something about them as a person. What object would you choose and why? I would choose a glass of red wine and leave it up to the viewer to decide what it says about me as a person.
If you could be any animal from the Nature Gallery, which would you be and why? I think I would be the Eagle. I would love to soar high in the sky and I have always fancied living in an eyrie!
What makes you happy? Being with friends and family, being by the sea and if they happen together then I am delirious.
What do you love to do in your spare time? (Aside from working at the museum, obviously) All sorts of things – visiting London (although I am always happy to come back to Derby), going to the theatre, going out for a nice meal, going on holiday…
