Head of Museums
Meet Jonathan, our Head of Museums. To help you find out a little more about him, we asked him some questions, here is what we found out…
- Many of the people that Joseph Wright painted chose to be depicted with an object that tells us something about them as a person. What object would you choose and why?
A book, probably Pictures from Italy by Charles Dickens, because I’ve been on the board of the Dickens Museum in London for 3 years and I love his travelogue style.
- If you could be any animal from the Nature Gallery, which would you be and why?
The Brazilian Tree Porcupine because they look so mischievous and fun!
- What makes you happy?
A lazy day at home, with cups of tea and a book
- What do you love to do in your spare time? (Aside from working at the museum, obviously)
Lots of things! I like to make spoons out of wood. It is great to get hands on and make something from nothing, nothing better than being creative.
