Janine Derbyshire

Head of Visitor Experience

Meet Janine, Head of Visitor Experience. In order to find out more about her, we asked her some questions to do a little digging and here is what she had to say…

  1. Many of the people that Joseph Wright painted chose to be depicted with an object that tells us something about them as a person.
It would have to be a lipstick. I always have one about my person and feel naked without it!
  1. If you could be any animal from the Nature Gallery, which would you be and why?
It would have to be the hippo – big hips are cool!
  1. What makes you happy?
Screaming from the sidelines at my boys playing football or sat having a cheeky cider watching them playing cricket. Winning and weather obviously adds to the enjoyment.
  1. What do you love to do in your spare time? (Aside from working at the museum, obviously)
Trip to one of the many country pubs around Derbyshire to sample fine ales and quality fayre
