With its new ‘Buffet in a Box’ just launched on Deliveroo, the Museum of Making’s River Kitchen café is raising its game.

Since the Museum of Making opened in May 2021, The River Kitchen has successfully aligned itself as a Derby favourite, serving delicious, locally sourced food and drink six days a week in the fantastic setting of Derby Silk Mill. The café is now trying something new by branching out on Deliveroo, building on its success as a finalist in the Best Café category of the 2021 Derby Food and Drinks Awards

The café’s new corporate lunch concept for 2022 is its ‘Buffet in a Box’ menu, which can be ordered for a maximum of 20 people, ideal for an office lunch or meeting. With this offer, customers are guaranteed a fantastic ‘buffet’, prepared to order with fresh ingredients and delivered in as little as 45 minutes with no pre-ordering required. Catering for all dietary requirements, the offer includes a selection of sandwiches, sausage or sun-dried tomato pinwheels, a house salad and a tasty selection of cakes.

Joe Donoghue, Derby Museums’ Catering Manager said: “We are so excited to be launching our new ‘Buffet in a Box’ offer on Deliveroo. Being able to provide our customers with an accessible takeaway option is a fantastic way to reach more people and we’re pleased to be able to diversify our offer. Our cafe team has been working hard to curate a delicious menu that showcases the best locally sourced ingredients which we will change with the seasons. With this new offer, we can provide a fresh conference lunch for a minimum of five people, delivered directly to the door.”

To place an order, customers should visit the Deliveroo website and search Derby for ‘The River Kitchen’.

All profits made by The River Kitchen café support Derby Museums’ work, creating inspiring experiences for our communities and protecting Derby’s heritage for future generations.
