Treasures of the Sea Cranky Contraptions

Make your own ‘under the sea’ automaton*. In this maker-led workshop you will be guided through the process of making a crank machine, and then use your imagination to bring your machine to life.

Two workshop times available:

10:15-11:45am or 1 – 2.30pm

The workshop will be led by Andy Miller, who is a trained theatre designer and practitioner and currently our Workshop Technician at the Museum of Making. He has over 40 years of industry experience and will guide participants through the processes of constructing these fun and ingenious machines.

 Suitable for adults and children aged 7+. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Booking essential. 

*An automaton is a moving mechanical device that can utilise different methods of movement.
