Museum of Making

Celebrate the official launch of the Museum of Making in collaboration with Derby Festé!

Celebrating the area’s rich history of innovation, the Museum of Making in the Derwent Valley Mills UNESCO World Heritage Site is a contemporary space telling Derby’s 300-year history of making to inspire new creativity on what is widely regarded as the site of the world’s first factory.

Join us at this special late night event to create your own limited-edition print with The Smallprint Company and enjoy a range of making activities and demonstrations, inspired by our fantastically varied collections of making.

This evening marks the start of Derby Feste 2021, with celebrations continuing in the city throughout the evening. Venture onto Cathedral Green at 8pm and 9pm to catch a performance of Chorus, a monumental outdoor artwork by the award-winning sound artist, theatre maker and composer, Ray Lee. Make sure to keep your eyes open for The Running Male as they run a meandering route through Derby City Centre!
